Our auditors go through in-depth training before they are involved with a retirement plan audit with additional training on an ongoing basis. Our Benefit Plan Services Group is a dedicated team, not a revolving door of inexperienced auditors. As a result, many of our clients have had the same auditor on their engagement for several years.
In 2004, Aronson & Company joined the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center, a firm-based voluntary membership center for firms that audit employee benefit plans. Employee benefit plan audits include pension, health and welfare, and 401(k) plans subject to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) under the regulatory authority of the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).
The Employee Benefit Plan Services Group performs full and limited scope audits for private and public companies across a wide variety of industries and vertical markets. A&C’s auditors develop long-lasting relationships with plan management and gain a strong understanding of the plan environment. A&C has developed a retirement plan audit process that is based on understanding retirement plans and the industry, not just the audit requirement.
During the audit, our auditors prepare a management letter that addresses any deficiencies that arise during the audit and they recommend enhancements that help the plan sponsor better meet their benefit plan and internal control goals.
